Are you ready for Freemasonry?

Freemasonry in the 21st Century is definitely not your grandfather’s Freemasonry. While traditions are to be valued, times have changed and there are now many more opportunities available to those who seek self improvement and personal fulfillment through the Initiatic experience. Several factors will determine the path you choose in moving forward; your previous exposure to the Masonic Fraternity, personal belief system and geographic location. The Obligations taken at the Altar of Freemasonry are solemn and eternal. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Praesent id consequat tortor. Quisque et mauris nunc. the following Obediences are listed alphabetically

George Washington Union

George Washington Union received its Charter from the Grand Orient de France in accord with a covenant signed in August 1977 and ratified by the General Assembly of the Grand Orient de France in September, 1978. It is a Mixed-Gender Freemason Obedience with Lodges in the USA and Canada. “We accept men and women candidates, over 21 years of age, who believe in complete freedom of conscience, in democratic values, in universal human rights, and in the principles of Freemasonry as defined in Anderson’s Constitutions of 1723 and L’Appel de Strasbourg. The candidates must be “free” of prejudice and dogma, and willing to commit to a lifelong search for the truth through constant reflection, introspection and outward altruism. This occurs with the help of Masonic tools, practices and symbols individually and collectively engaged by candidates who become Freemasons.”

Honorable Order of Universal Co-Masonry

The Honorable Order of Universal Co-Masonry    “On April 11, 1994, The American Federation of Human Rights formed under members of the Sovereign Grand Inspector General (S.G.I.G.) of the Thirty-third Degree and founded The Honorable Order of American Co-Masonry. Also known as American Co-Masonry, this now-independent obedience, which has its headquarters in Larkspur, Colorado, has since become a Co-Masonic organization in the United States and has established Lodges in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina. “Freemasonry is a fraternity including men and women of every race, nationality and religion. Wishing to do away with all cause for division and strife, it continually seeks the means which to help all human beings to unite and work together for the perfection of Humanity.”  “In accordance with the ancient declaration of Freemasonry, Freemasons must assert the existence of a Supreme Power, but at the same time, they are at perfect liberty to differ in regard to the Attributes of that power.”

International Masonic Order DELPHI of USA

International Masonic Order DELPHI of USA “was founded in 1926, and was restructured in 1996, under the name ” International Freemasonic Order Delphi “.The first Mixed Lodge was founded in 1926, under the aegis of The International Mixed Freemasonic Order ” Le Droit Humain “, that resides in Paris. In 1996, the General Assembly of the Order unanimously voted its re-establishment under the separate name of “DELPHI”. Today, it exists and functions by law as an independent and self-governing entity, it follows the Great Freemasonic Constitution of 1786, according to the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.”  “Although women have long been admitted to Masonic practices in various ways, the International Masonic Order DELPHI is dedicated to complete equality between the sexes, as well as among all races and religions.”   “The Order’s objective is unhindered, effective and creative intellectual action, at the national and international level, through the activity of its members, so that the Freemasonic Ideals are spread in the World.”

Grand Orient of France in North America

The Grand Orient of France in North America  operates 7 Lodges in major cities around the USA and Canada.  “The Grand Orient of France, is a humanist, initiatory and fraternal commitment.”  “The Grand Orient of France is it the oldest and the most important masonic obedience of continental Europe. Born in 1728 as First Grand Lodge of France, it took its current form and name in 1773. Today, the Grand Orient has nearly 47,000 registered members in more than 1150 lodges.”  “Faithfully ‘wanting to be the center of the union between persons who otherwise would have remained perpetually alien’, the Grand Orient abolished, in 1877, the obligation for its members to refer to the existence of God and to the immortality of the soul. Thus was born the “liberal” or “adogmatic” Freemasonry which welcomes believers and non-believers and thus leaves to its members an absolute freedom of conscience and research.”  “The Grand Orient considers that metaphysical conceptions are exclusively the result of personal appreciation. The lodges of the Grand Orient of France therefore work according to their choice, either under the invocation of Universal Freemasonry, or to the glory of the Great Architect of the Universe.

Le Droit Humain – American Federation

Le Droit Humain – American Federation   “On November 7, 1908, the American Federation of Human Rights was formed and Francois Louis Goaziou was elected its first President. On November 21, 1909 he received appointment as Representative of the Supreme Council for the American Federation of the International Order of Co-Freemasonry “LE DROIT HUMAIN” and on the same day the Consistory Degrees as well as the 33 Degree and last Degree of the Scottish Rite were conferred upon him.”  “The Order professes no dogma and rejects dogmatism. Our members are men and women fraternally united without distinction on grounds of race, ethnic origin, philosophical opinion or religion. Freemasons owe obedience to the International Order of Freemasonry for Men and Women, Le Droit Humain, and to the laws of their country; they must live honorably, practice justice, and love their neighbors. In addition, they respect members’ independence from religious institutions and organizations, and are respectful of the right to absolute freedom of conscience of all.”

Regular Freemasonry / Malecraft Lodges

Dogmatic Freemasonry is by far the most dominant Masonic Obedience in the English speaking world and beyond since the formation of the United Grand Lodge of England in 1717. Although there are many differences in Jurisdictional practices, Regular Freemasonry is masculine only and requires a belief in Deity. Owing to the history of societal racial segregation, most geographical areas in the United States have two independent and sovereign Grand Lodges operating concurrently, one predominantly ‘white’ and one predominantly ‘black’. Thankfully a great deal of progress has been made in the last several decades to bring the two groups together as much as possible in the spirit of Harmony, Friendship and Brotherly Love. This is the Freemasonry most people are familiar with and if you concur with the the basic requirements of membership it is a good place to start your investigation into the Masonic Fraternity. If interested, do an internet search of your state Grand Lodges, find a Lodge near you and go introduce yourself.  2BE1ASK1
